SF Weekend Guide: March 18–20

The sun is out for the first time in a while here in San Francisco, but it won’t last too long. Rain is expected to pour down on the Bay Area on Sunday, but that mean the fun has to stop. Here’s your guide to the weekend here in the City:

Friday, March 18th:

The Hyatt Regency in Downtown San Francisco is hosting a fundraiser to help get students of all ages outdoors – and to do that, people will be rappelling down the building all day, from 8 AM to 6 PM. To be able to participate, you’ll need to fundraise or give outright at least $1,800 towards their goal of $300,000. This funding can provide 1,600 days of outdoor learning to underserved students in the Bay Area and throughout California. If you’re afraid of heights, however, being able to watch from the street is free.

The United States Naval Academy Men’s Glee Club is hosting a free performance at the Grace Cathedral. The concert starts at 7 PM.

Saturday, March 19th:

Join in the Spring Equinox Ceremony at the San Francisco Zen Center. Starting at 7:10 AM, the ceremony to celebrate the beginning of Spring is immediately followed by meditation. This event is hosted in their gorgeous outdoor courtyard, and best of all, it’s free.

It’s Earth Hour 2016! The Golden Gate Bridge and other buildings, monuments all over the city all turning off their non-essential lighting at 8:30 pm on Saturday. Over the past years, San Francisco City Hall also participated.

In addition to these incredible events, there are several incredible open houses on Saturday.
