FILM→ Taking over the streets of SF this weekend is the 10th Annual Disposable Film Festival! Started in 2006 by Eric Slatkin and Carlton Evans, this festival showcases some of the best short films made by regular people using just your ordinary mobile devices and digital cameras, this event proves that you don’t need fancy equipment to share your story. With various events being hosted at venues like Churchill, PROXYSF, the SF Film Society Filmhouse, and the beautiful Mystic Hotel, this weekend will not disappoint. MOVIE TIME→ Being shown at the Roxie Theater this weekend is one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the 21st Century, Donnie Darko. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, and Mary McDonnel, this movie tells the story of a troubled teenager, haunted by visions of a man in a rabbit suit who manipulates him into entering the world of crime after narrowly surviving a freak accident. Relive the action this weekend and head out to the Roxie!

Saturday, April 1st

BOTANICAL→ Head out to Golden Gate Park’s Botanical Garden for your chance to bring home some of the most beautiful, hard to find plants you’ll ever find. This monthly sale only takes place on selected Saturdays between March and November, so head out to the SF Botanical Garden for some fun in the sun!

HELLO KITTY→ Every Hello Kitty fanatic’s dream, this Saturday, the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck will be at the Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton dishing out adorable confectionery items from cakes to macarons. The truck will also be selling must-have Hello Kitty swag including T-shirts, mugs, and bow shaped water bottles. Items are available while supplies last, so be sure to arrive early!

CARNIVAL→ Make your way Downtown into Macy’s at Union Square this weekend for their Flower Show and enter their fantasy like display of vibrant floral scenes featuring hundreds of flowers and plants from around the world. With an array of events being hosted from cooking demos with Chef Lauren Kiino to floral arrangement workshops, Macy’s helping San Francisco ring in this Spring with style!

CULTURE→ Every first Sunday of the month, visitors are granted free entry into San Francisco’s Asian Art Museum. With 18,000 artworks spanning 6,000 years of history, the Asian Art Museum is one of the largest museums in the Western world exclusively dedicated to Asian art. Visit the Asian Art Museum this Sunday and prepare to be intrigue and inspired. Currently on display are beautiful exhibits featuring like tomb treasures from China’s Han Dynasty, Japanese ceramic sculptures, and much more!
